In recognition of International Women’s Day, we are celebrating the women who are integral to our Company’s operations.
Marie Paul: Supply Chain Coordinator
Marie started at BELCO in 2016 after more than 25 years with the then sister company, Bermuda Gas and Utility.
Marie started as a Logistics Coordinator before being given the opportunity to become a Supply Chain Coordinator, a position she truly enjoys. She says she does not feel disadvantaged in a male dominated Company, despite being the only female in Procurement for the past six years.
Marie says when she started with the BELCO family, she was welcomed with open arms by the team. She was the second female in the Procurement Team; but the others are all now retired. While Marie doesn’t have a specific mentor she is thankful for the women who paved the way and provided leadership qualities and confidence to members of staff.
Marie was born in Bermuda and attended The Central School (now known as Victor Scott Primary), The Berkeley Institute and Bermuda College, before joining the work environment.
Outside of work Marie is a member of a few clubs that make contributions to the community including the Ex-artilleryman’s Association, The Leopard’s Club and Warwick Workman’s Club. Marie also makes contributions by serving on various committees. Marie has in the past played many years of netball and volleyball as well as playing defensive positions for BELCO’s netball team.
