We would like to advise that trenching work on Palmetto Road and North Shore Road has been temporarily suspended while our crews pull and fuse cables from Store Hill to Flatt’s substation via Middle Road.
Our trenching project in the east end has now moved onto the next phase of works which involves reopening the holes where cable joints are located to pull and fuse cables. Each week crews will advance to the next cable joint section until they reach Flatt’s Substation. Once that section has been completed crews will go back to North Shore and continue to pull and fuse cables to National Stadium.
BELCO President Wayne Caines said: “We are making progress on our critical infrastructure upgrades with the underground transmission cables now being pulled and fused. I appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as these works take place and once completed, we will have a more robust grid that will assist in our journey to achieving Net Zero.”
