Following the memorial ceremony there was a health fair with various local health and well-being practitioners answering questions and performing health tests, such as sugar and blood pressure, for members of staff.

Throughout the day there were various seminars on topics including sustainability, safety and leadership training, and mental wellness/stress management. The seminars were designed to educate the BELCO team on ways to better manage stress in the workplace, the role of leadership in safety, the various safety policies and procedures specific to BELCO operations, and the role of the company and its employees in moving Bermuda forward on her journey towards sustainability.

BELCO President Wayne Caines said: “Health and safety is our number one priority at BELCO – for our team, for our customers and for our community. Our annual OHSE Day is one of the most important days on our calendar as it provides resources and avenues for our team to not only get their own health checks but also to learn about the latest health and safety protocols at our Company. I would like to thank the local health and wellness practitioners for attending as well as all of our staff who made the day a great success.”
