Please note that we must temporarily de-energise approximately 100 customers in Warwick in order to clear vegetation overgrowth that is causing repeated outages. This temporary outage will continue until the vegetation has been cleared and it is safe to re-energise the lines.

🌀 As of 12pm today, Bermuda Weather Service (BWS) has maintained that Hurricane Erin is still A Potential Threat to Bermuda and the Tropical Storm Watch remains in effect. The system is forecast to be approximately 337nm to the northwest of Bermuda today – Thursday, August 21, 2025 – which is currently the closest point of approach within the next 72 hours.

⚠️ Safety Tip ⚠️
Call 955 immediately to report downed power lines and wait a safe distance away (33 feet or more, which is approximately three car lengths) for BELCO’s emergency crews to arrive.

🌀 As of 12pm today, Bermuda Weather Service (BWS) has shared that a Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Hurricane Erin, which is still categorised as A Potential Threat to Bermuda. The system is forecasted to be approximately 339nm to the north northwest of Bermuda on Friday, August 22, 2025, as a category 3 hurricane at 12:00am, which is currently the closest point of approach within the next 72 hours.

⚠️ Safety Tip ⚠️
Always assume downed power lines are energised and dangerous. You cannot tell whether a power line is energised or not just by looking at it. Stay at least 33 feet or more away from downed power lines (that’s approximately three car lengths) and ensure others do the same.

🌀 As of 12pm today, Bermuda Weather Service (BWS) has shared that Hurricane Erin is A Potential Threat to Bermuda, forecasting the system to be approximately 303nm to the northwest of Bermuda on Friday, August 22, 2025, as a category 2 hurricane at 3:00am, which is currently the closest point of approach within the next 72 hours.

✅ At BELCO, our team continues to prepare for the potential impacts of #HurricaneErin, inclusive of ensuring that our fleet is fully charged, fuelled and stocked with the necessary restoration tools; securing our substations; and positioning restoration equipment and crews in strategic locations across the island.
