New Regulatory Authority Fee

Hamilton, Bermuda (April 6, 2017) ‚Äď BELCO would like to advise its customers that in accordance with the recently enacted Electricity (Regulatory Authority Fees) Regulations 2017, as of April 1st, 2017, BELCO is required to pay a Regulatory Authority Fee in the amount of $0.00475 per kilowatt-hour sold.¬† As a result, all bills with meter reading dates from April 1st, 2017 will now include a new recovery fee, titled Regulatory Authority Fee, b [ ... ]

Never touch downed wires as they may be live and you can't tell if a wire is live or not by looking at it. Telephone or cable television wires that are touching a power line can become energised and should also be avoided. If you see a downed wire, call BELCO immediately at 955, and if you are not able to speak to an operator, call 911 to report the location of the downed wire.
